Hi, In order to connect to MS Access from Denodo, I would perform the following steps: 1. Open **ODBC Data Source Administrator (32/64-bit)** tool, create User or System DSN for the **mdb** or **accdb** file using **MS Access Driver**. 1. On VDP, create [ODBC Source](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/vdp/administration/creating_views/importing_data_sources_and_creating_base_views/odbc_sources). 1. Choose “Access” on the **Database Adapter** list. 1. On **Connection Type**, I would choose **DSN** option and select the DSN created in Step 1 on the **DSN** drop down. 1. Alternatively, I can choose **Direct** option on **Connection Type**, provide the mdb or accdb **File path** and choose “MS Access Driver” on the **Driver** drop down. In this case, I can avoid Step 1. You can refer to the [ODBC Sources](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/vdp/administration/creating_views/importing_data_sources_and_creating_base_views/odbc_sources) section of the [Virtual DataPort Administration Guide](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/vdp/administration/index) to get more details. Hope this helps.

Dear Denodo Team, I tried to replicate above Instructions by using the "Direct"-option mentioned in step 5 but the Driver drop down is missing the entry for "MS Access Driver" and only shows SQL Server. How can I provide the needed driver or how can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I think this could be due to the JAVA version being used in Denodo 6. I found similar questions which could help you fix the issue, * [MS Access Data Source](https://community.denodo.com/answers/question/details?questionId=9060g0000000AbUAAU&title=MS+Access+Data+Source) * [Connecting MS ACCESS](https://community.denodo.com/answers/question/details?questionId=9060g0000000B2LAAU&title=Connecting+MS+ACCESS) If you are a valid support user, you could raise a case with necessary attachment/ screen shot and it will be addressed there. Hope this helps! Hope this helps!

Hi, When using the **Direct** option, you point to a file stored in the local file system of the Server, using one of the ODBC drivers registered on the Server and when i checked in my Denodo 8 instance, in the *Driver* dropdown of the data source, **Microsoft Access Driver** was listed there. If you are facing issue with configuring the ODBC connection for accessing MS Access as a data source, you can raise a support case with necessary attachment/ screen shot Hope this helps!
