Design Studio is a brand new application introduced in Denodo Platform 8.0. This is a web interface for developers who create different types of elements like data sources, base view, derived views, published web services, and more. Developers can access and edit the elements created or modified in Design Studio from the Virtual DataPort Administration tool and vice versa. Design Studio has the same layout as the Virtual DataPort Administration Tool.
The main difference between the Virtual DataPort Administration Tool and the Virtual DataPort Design Studio is that Design Studio can be accessed from anywhere through the web browser and a separate installation is not required as Virtual DataPort Administration Tool. However, the Administrators must still use Virtual DataPort Administration Tool for performing Server Administration activities.
Design Studio is a web tool included with the Denodo Platform 8.0 so separate installation is not required and you can launch and work with it like any other web applications included in Denodo.
