Connectivity to S3 with data in parquet format

Hi, Would like to know if Denodo can connect to the S3 object store and retrieve content stored in the parquet format via a regular SQL query. Thanks. John

Hi John, Denodo supports access to parquet files stored in S3 by using the HDFS Custom Wrappers that are available at Denodo Support Site. This package contains several custom wrappers capable of reading common file formats in Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), such as delimited text files, sequence files, map files, avro files and also parquet files. Those wrappers support two types of URI to identify the file system: 1) HDFS URI in the form hdfs://<ip>:<port> 2) Amazon S3 URI in the form s3n://<id>:<secret>@<bucket> Unfortunatelly, the custom wrappers are not available for 'community' users and can't be loaded in the Denodo Express version either. So, if you want to explore those functionalities, I would recomend you to contact a Denodo sales rep in order to get a full evaluation version with full access to the Support Site add-ons. Hope this helps
