Hi, In VDP I create a JDBC data source to connect to SQL Server and create a base view using the "Create from Query" button this lets me create base views non-graphically by providing a query which executes directly on the SQL server. By using this option you would be able to execute all database specific syntax on VDP admin tool. I hope this helps you!
