Issues with required Internet Access for installation procedure

I am trying to install Express edition to evaluate the product, but am failing at the first hurdle. The target server does not have direct internet access, although it can be configured to use a proxy. However, I cannot find anything in the installation guide regarding how the installer can be set to use a proxy, and setting HTTP_PROXY in the environment seems to be ignored. How does one either: 1) install without internet access, or 2) configure the installer to connect via a proxy server? Thanks in advance.

The installer does not require access to the Internet. You can just download the zip file and the license to your desktop, and then copy them to the server where you wish to install. In terms of connection to data sources, global server proxy settings can be configured from the Administration Tool, in Administration > Server Configuration > HTTP Proxy

Thank you. I was able to successfully install the 64b version on Windows. However, no luck with the preferred (Linux) option. Does the installer perhaps expect there to be a Gnome or KDE style desktop environment available?

The installer tries to launch the graphical interface by default. However, it also supports "headless" installations for environments without an X client. You can find the details in the entry "Headless Installation" of the knowledge base, available here: https://community.denodo.com/kb/view/document/Installation%20&%20Updates/Headless%20installation
