Sign in to Data Catalog

Hi, Team, It's my first time to sign on to Data Catalog. Data Catalog is running and I used admin and admin to log in. The "Sign In" button is grey. Does that mean I don't have access for some reason? or I am missing some steps? Thanks Ming

Hi, For your scenario, first, ensure that you have come across any error while performing the installation/update of the Denodo Platform. If any, then perform the update again and try to log in into the Data Catalog. Also, if you are log in into Data Catalog for first time, then you need to add the [Virtual DataPort](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/data_catalog/administration/servers_configuration/servers_configuration#configure-the-virtual-dataport-servers) server in the server configuration. This can be done by adding “Local” to the end of your default Data Catalog URL. For example: > http://<host_name>:9090/denodo-data-catalog/LoginLocal Signing in as the admin user and clicking on “Server” will lead you to the configuration screen. You can click on the plus sign under “Configure the Virtual DataPort Servers” to add your desired Virtual DataPort server. For more information, we have included a link to the [Authentication and Authorization](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/data_catalog/authentication_and_authorization/authentication_and_authorization) section of the Data Catalog Guide. Hope this helps!

HI, Thanks for the reply. I just did that. The new screen asks for Password and I entered "admin". Then the same screen showed up again asking for password. The URL says: "...status=SessionExpired" Would you please advise? Thank you!

Hi, To find the root cause of that issue, I would check the possible causes in the **vdp-data-catalog.log** file located at <DENODO_HOME>\logs\vdp-data-catalog. Hope this helps!
