Unable to connect to different database in HIve

I am using Denodo Express for POC.I am trying to connect to Hive using JDBC URL jdbc:hive://host:port/database. I have two databases in Hive. 1) Default 2) XXX When I try to connect to hive using Default database its working, but when I try to connect different database using jdbc:hive://host:port/XXX it still connecting to default database and not to XXX. Can any one has a solution to this. Thanks everyone for their help.

Hi! Have you tried editing the VQL manually and specifying the database name there? Denodo Express always uses the default Database with Hive unless it is manually specified in the VQL. This is not the case with the latest full version of the Denodo Platform. Hope that helps!

Ya, I tried editing the VQL manually and importing it, but of no luck still it's connecting to default database. May be we have to try with the licensed version. Many thanks
