Hello, If I would like to just check if the Solution Manager server is reachable, I could use telnet to confirm it by issuing the below command in the Command Prompt, where <IP ADDRESS OF SERVER> is the Solution Manager’s IP address and <PORT> is the Solution Manager server port which is 10090 by default: `telnet <IP ADDRESS OF SERVER> <PORT>` It is also possible to send email alerts if the Solution Manager server is unreachable using SMTP. To do so, I would use the **/pingSolutionManager** endpoint of Solution Manager’s REST API. `http://<host of the Solution Manager server>:<Solution Manager server port>/pingSolutionManager` Then, I would create a job that emails me when the Solution Manager server connection fails using Denodo Scheduler by following the steps below. 1. Create a delimited file (DF) data source by referencing [Delimited File Sources](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/creating_data_sources_and_base_views/delimited_file_sources/delimited_file_sources#delimited-file-sources) in the Virtual DataPort Administration Guide. 1. Give the name and select *HTTP Client* for **Data route** 1. Click the Configuration tab and set the URL that I used for **/pingSolutionManager**. I would keep in mind to set up the authentication. 1. Create a Base view and execute it. If the connection is successful, **OK** will show up; otherwise an error message will show up. 1. Configure the SMTP server to be used by Scheduler by referencing [Mail Settings](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/scheduler/administration/administration/server_configuration/server_setup#mail-settings) in the Scheduler Administration Guide. 1. Add a VDP job in the Denodo Scheduler to query the base view. Configure a mail handler by referencing [Handler Section](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/scheduler/administration/creating_and_scheduling_jobs/configuring_new_jobs/handler_section#handler-section) in the Scheduler Administration Guide. 1. Configure time-based scheduling of this job through specifying a cron expression in the **Triggers** section of the job. I would read [Time-based Job Scheduling Section](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/scheduler/administration/creating_and_scheduling_jobs/configuring_new_jobs/time-based_job_scheduling_section) in the Scheduler Administration Guide to see how to set this up. If you have a valid Support user and need any further assistance with configuring this in Denodo, please open a new Support case at the [Denodo Support Site](https://support.denodo.com) so that the Denodo Team can review this in detail. Hope this helps!

Hello, As described above, I could configure a mail handler after setting the Mail Settings and get an email with the execution summary of a job. To receive email notifications with the message I want, I could use the **Denodo Email Exported Files Custom Handler **available in the DenodoConnects section of the support site to change the field for the Email body or Subject in the **email-exported-files** handler. You can refer to [Denodo Email Exported Files Custom Handler - User Manual ](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/document/denodoconnects/8.0/en/Denodo%20Email%20Exported%20Files%20Custom%20Handler%20-%20User%20Manual) that describes a Scheduler custom handler which creates and sends an email. Hope this helps!
