Can't connect app to Denodo via ODBC

I am running Denodo Express 5.5 and trying to connect to it via ODBC. I've done so successfully using Excel (after using a 64-bit DSN rather than 32-bit). However, when I try to connect via Tableau, I get the message: ERROR: Syntax error: Using unicode characters in identifiers is not allowed by the license java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error: Using unicode characters in identifiers is not allowed by the license; Error while executing the query I've tried configuring the DSN with the PostgreSQL ANSI (x64) drive and the PostgreSQL Unicode (x64) driver, but I get the message in either case. Do you have any idea what might be causing this, and how I can get around the problem? Thanks. P.S. I get the same message when I connect to Denodo using the PostgreSQL driver built into Tableau.

Hi there! While the Unicode support is not currently allowed in the Denodo Express version - it is something we may consider adding in future revisions. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us!

Good news! Due to the excellent feedback we received from the Denodo Community, we implemented some updates for Denodo Express we think you will find useful: - Unicode Support, so you can integrate with even more BI tools like Tableau or Microstrategy. - Apache Derby database support – because you asked for it and we listened. Prototype solutions that use cache with just one click and zero configuration. How do you update? You don't need to reinstall the software; just Download the new Denodo Express license file from the Denodo Express Community page https://community.denodo.com/express/download - as you did the first time - install it in your current Denodo Platform installation (through the Help menu of the Denodo Platform Control Center) and restart Denodo Express. Changes will be applied automatically and don’t worry, you won’t lose any work. We would like to thank everyone for their involvement and feedback in the Denodo Community.
