In general, Virtual DataPort server supports **two modes** of the charsets for the entire server. While using Restricted mode, the elements created in the server have to be named in **lowercase characters** only. The name of the elements could have numbers and underscore character.
While the server is in Unicode mode, the identifiers of the elements can contain any character. These restrictions apply in the Virtual DataPort while creating elements(data sources, views,wrappers) in the Virtual Dataport server. These settings would not affect the results obtained in the Data Catalog.
