Hi, You can check the section "Adding variables to selection conditions (GETVAR and SETVAR)" of the Advanced VQL Guide for understanding the usage of GETVAR and SETVAR. Basically, they are pretty similar to view parameters and I would recommend you to use view parameters unless you are going to reuse the same variable in many views. Hope this helps!
