Modifying the contents of scheduler export .

Hi , May I know weather I can modify the contents of export (Zipped) file after taking the export from scheduler ? E.g. I want to modify the file manually to change data source names as per new envioronment data source name and then import the file into scheduler . May I know how can we do this ? TIA SJ.

Hi, It is possible to change the data sources in the Denodo Scheduler while in the Scheduler Admin Tool. I would not however, suggest changing the exported zipped file because if you try to import it again after doing that it will be seen as an invalid file. So I would change the data source name before export or after import to avoid this error. This can be done by going to the data sources page and clicking on the data source with the name that you want to change, and then going to the edit tab. I would also look at the [Data Sources](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/scheduler/administration/creating_and_scheduling_jobs/data_sources/data_sources) section in the Scheduler Administration Guide for an overview of data sources in the Scheduler. If you have a valid support user account, please open a new support case at support.denodo.com so that the support team can review the issue in detail. Hope this helps!

Hi , Thanks for the response . In my case, I have more than 30 data sources that I have to update whenever I migrate VDP Code from DEV environment to ST or UAT . Your answer suggest that we should do it manually for every view . But is there any way to automate it ? TIA SJ

Hi, Denodo allows for the changing of the data source connected to using the graphical interface. This is not something I can automate in any way like through a scheduler job. I would if possible have the same data source names across environments to be able to simplify the migration process. The response to this question [How can we the VDP Datasource name](https://community.denodo.com/answers/question/details?questionId=9060g0000000APnAAM&title=How%20can%20we%20the%20VDP%20Datasource%20name) addresses how to change the name of a data source. Another possibility of something I might do when exporting, would be to click the option export with properties to export the environment dependent properties in a separate properties file. For more information on please follow the [Export](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/scheduler/administration/administration/server_configuration/import_export_backups#export) section in Scheduler Administration Guide. Hope this helps!
