How to find out when number of rows changes for a Data Catalog Query ( Query > My Queries)

How can we identify if the records are inserted/deleted for a saved query in Denodo Data Catalog. The idea is to eventually trigger a notification whenever new rows are available for a saved query in Data Catalog ( Query > My Queries).

Hi, Saved queries in the Denodo Data Catalog allow you to save queries under a name and description, showing their view, web service, or VQL sentence along with their database. If a saved query is attached to a base view, it is possible to detect changes in the data source of the base view with the `GET_SOURCE_CHANGES` and `GET_VIEWS` stored procedures. For more information on how to do this, you can visit the [How to detect changes in data sources](https://community.denodo.com/kb/en/view/document/How%20to%20detect%20changes%20in%20data%20sources) Knowledge Base article. Hope this helps!

Thank you for sharing the above information, this is an useful information however it focuses on the schema changes in the base view. What we are more interested is in identifying the insertion/deletion (change in count of records) of a base/drieved view. To elaborate, if a base/derived view has x records, we intend to be notified when the record count changes to y records.

Hi, One way to track the number of rows for a view or query is by using the [Virtual DataPort Queries Monitor](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/vdp/administration/monitoring_the_virtual_dataport_server/denodo_monitor/virtual_dataport_monitors#virtual-dataport-queries-monitor) of the [Denodo Monitor](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/vdp/administration/monitoring_the_virtual_dataport_server/denodo_monitor/denodo_monitor), which has a `NumRows` column name that shows the number of rows returned by a query. This will allow you to see how the number of rows has changed each time that query has been executed. However, since the views of the platform are models of the data instead of actually containing the data itself, it is not currently possible to have the platform notify in real-time when the row count of the data has changed, which would be a task better suited for the data source itself. Hope this helps!
