Migrate from Denodo 7.0 to Denodo 8.0 - Servers

Hi community, For an installation of DENODO 7.0 with 1 server for PreProduction and 2 Production servers (all with different IPs, non localhost), in terms of migration to Denodo 8.0, would it be necessary to have different machines to install the new servers (the 8.0 ones)? Or could the new servers be installed on the same machines, since being installed on different directories they can both run, just not simultaneosly? How would this work on Solution Manager and License validation? Thank you Best Regards

Hi, Yes. You can install the Denodo Platform version 8.0 in the same physical machine where the current installation of Denodo Platform 7.0 is running, but it has to be installed in a different directory. Also, It is possible to run different versions simultaneously. To do that, 1. Configure the new installation (i.e. Denodo platform 8.0) to use different ports to listen to connections. Similarly, You can run different versions of Solution Manager simultaneously by configuring the new installation of the Solution Manager to use different ports as same as the Denodo Platform. However, please note that if both versions run simultaneously, you need to be careful of the requirements of CPU, memory and disk of both versions. For more information, you can refer to the [Running Both Versions in the Same Computer](https://www.google.com/url?q=https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/platform/upgrade/introduction_to_upgrading%23running-both-versions-in-the-same-computer&sa=D&source=docs&ust=1636627936879000&usg=AOvVaw2ya32pxv21iNyI4cGepzcY) section of the Denodo Platform Upgrade Guide. Hope this Helps!
