Unable to connect Denodo to Power BI, experiencing ERROR 08001, please help!

Hi, I am trying to connect Denodo with Power BI and have set up ODBC driver and DSN as per this link (https://community.denodo.com/kb/en/view/document/How%20to%20connect%20to%20Denodo%20from%20Power%20BI?category=Consumers) However, when I tried to connect, I encountered this error message: "We encountered an error while trying to connect. Details: "ODBC: ERROR [08001] timeout expired" I have also set "SET QUERYTIMEOUT TO 36000000" Please help!

Hi, First of all, you should test the ODBC connection with the Windows ODBC tool that are avaliable (ODBC Data Sources (64 bit)), as is shown on the section "Set Up a DSN on Windows" of this documentation: https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/vdp/developer/access_through_odbc/configuration_of_the_odbc_driver_on_windows/configuration_of_the_odbc_driver_on_windows#set-up-a-dsn-on-windows In the case that Test action fails, the ODBC connection is not working from your client. You can also try to use the Connection String instead of the ODBC Driver and the DSN, a new funcionality that is avaliable since the Denodo Power BI update released in May 2022. The documentation for this feature is on the following link, under the "Connection String (DSN-less Connection)" section: https://community.denodo.com/kb/en/view/document/How%20to%20connect%20to%20Denodo%20from%20Power%20BI?category=Consumers Another possible reason for this issue could be that the query that you are trying to execute has a problem. To check this, please execute it on the Denodo Design Studio or in the Virtual DataPort Administration Tool. If the query fails or returns a timeout on those apps, this is the cause of the error that you are reporting. Hope this helps!
