Similar Question to Location of keytab file for Kerberos authentication on windows server

The answer given to the question https://community.denodo.com/answers/question/details?questionId=90670000000L5RZAA0&title=Location+of+keytab+file+for+Kerberos+authentication+on+windows+server was not the best. Could the Denodo team please clarify what to do with the keytab file? Can it be deleted? Should it be placed under the "Denodo Platform" folder somwhere? What would be the recommended best practice? Sorry guys but there is a clear information gap in your Kerberos guide and unfortunately the answer given on the linked above is far from good. (as a way of background I have configured Kerberos multiple times for other tools and there is always a location for the keytab file...)

Hi, You need to copy the generated keytab file to the server where Virtual DataPort is running so that it can be accessible to the Denodo Platform. You can save it in any directory of the server, even under 'Denodo Platform' folder if you prefer. And then, under 'Administration > Server Configuration > Kerberos Configuration' of the Virtual DataPort Administration tool, this file can be specified as 'Keytab file' after selecting 'Use Kerberos' checkbox. You can refer to [Setting-Up the Kerberos Authentication in the Virtual DataPort Server](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/vdp/administration/server_administration_-_configuring_the_server/kerberos_authentication/setting-up_the_kerberos_authentication_in_the_virtual_dataport_server#setting-up-the-kerberos-authentication-in-the-virtual-dataport-server) of the Virtual DataPort Administration guide for more information. Hope this helps!
