RE: created views not working when Sql server is not working in Denodo

Hi Team, good evening. I have a quick question. I have created a base view and with that base views I have implemented logics in interface and created new interface view. My, sql server is not working and In denodo, Base views and interface views also not working Here I dont understand that, why my Base views are not working. Denodo acts as virtualization right. I thought that Denodo Tool itself save the meta data and table data as well in view itself. But when Sql server is not working at that time I got to know that Denodo is saves only Metadata. can any one give me clarity on This. Is am wrong correct me.Thanks Indeed.

Hi, Denodo itself does not store any data from source (unless you are using the Cache Module). Denodo retrieves data from sources in real time. Using introspection on the source, Denodo will create the base views and only the metadata related to those base views and to the derived views that you can develop is stored. The source from where the data is taken has to be available. For further insights, I’d recommend to read [General Architecture](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/administration/general_architecture/general_architecture) of the VDP Server for a better understanding about how Denodo interacts with the different data sources. If you want to understand how to apply the Cache Module I’d recommend to read the [Cache Module](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/administration/cache_module/cache_module) section in our documentation. Hope this helps!
