The first thing you’re going to need to do is to [download](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/athena/latest/ug/connect-with-jdbc.html) the appropriate jdbc drivers to access Amazon Athena via jdbc. Since you’re on Denodo 6.0, download the one for jdk 7. Take that jar file, and place it in <DENODO_HOME>/extensions/thirdparty/lib.
Next, you’re going to create a new jdbc data source, and select the Generic JDBC adapter from the dropdown. Browse to the jar file you just placed, and manually set the class to ‘com.amazon.athena.jdbc.Driver’.
Unfortunately, the Athena JDBC driver doesn’t implement Prepared Statements yet. Those are required by Denodo for accessing JDBC sources.
If you are a Denodo customer you can discuss your options opening a case in the Denodo Support Site http://support.denodo.com
Hope this helps!
