Extract URL or directly download file from using url

Is there way to extract the file after the button is submitted. Example scenario: Submit button clicked > file is view to the browser (http://website.com/file.doc) There is no “Download” option or url, I only have the url. To save the file manually, i have to do is click the save button from pdf. When recording the sequence, i cant right click the save button from pdf. How to download the file or How I can get the url of the file in the browser (http://website.com/file.doc) ? Thank you.

Hi, I followed the below steps to download a file after clicking the submit button and it worked for me: 1. Record the sequence by clicking the “Rec” button available in the Sequence Generator toolbar and provide the URL. 2. Make sure to select the “Enable popups” button in the Sequence Generator toolbar. 2. Click on the “Cancel Navigation” button in the Sequence Generator toolbar. 3. Right click over the submit button and select the option “Click and > Save” without navigating to the file. 4. Save the file by providing the required location in the browse dialog box. To know more about downloading a file while recording the sequence, you can refer to the knowledge base article “[Downloading a file from a website](https://community.denodo.com/kb/view/document/Downloading%20a%20file%20from%20a%20website?category=ITPilot)”.     Hope this helps!

Hi! Maybe the pdf file is being opened in a new window? When I have that situation, I use the *SELECTWINDOW* command to select the new window as the active one before executing actions over that window. I'd also check that you have enabled the browser to open new windows using *ALLOWOPENNEWWINDOWS* command. You can take a look at the full list of commands for handling Windows in the [ITPilot NSEQL Guide](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/itpilot/nseql/list_of_nseql_commands/commands_for_handling_windows/commands_for_handling_windows#selectwindow) Hope this helps!
