Logging User Roles and Privileges

Team, Suppose I have a Normal User "User A" with READ privilege on "Database A". Now, user privileges are modified to READ and WRITE on "Database A". Will this modification be logged anywhere ? That on this date and time by this admin user, privileges of User A were modified. Please tell. How can this be identified . Thanks.

Hi, In Virtual DataPort logs are stored in the directory <Denodo-Home>\logs\vdp. The Vdp-requests file logs all the requests processed by the Virtual DataPort server. I would do the following in Virtual DataPort Administration Tool to enable the requests logs sent to the server. * Change the log category 'com.denodo.vdp.requests' to ‘INFO’ level by calling the LogController Stored Procedure in the VQL shell  as,       CALL LOGCONTROLLER('com.denodo.vdp.requests', 'INFO') * Assign “Read and Write” Privileges for the normal user in Virtual DataPort Administration Tool.          * The request information sent to the server are logged in to the directory <Denodo-Home>\logs\vdp\vdp-requests.log. You can refer the [LOGCONTROLLER](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/vdp/vql/stored_procedures/predefined_stored_procedures/logcontroller) section in the Virtual DataPort VQL Guide. Hope this helps you!

Hi In Denodo Platform, you could log all the statements processed by Virtual DataPort using Denodo Monitor. I would use the Denodo Monitor to log the privileges modified by the 'admin' user by the following steps, 1. Unzip the file in the directory <DENODO_HOME>/tools/monitor 2. Launch the denodo monitor by running the script "denodomonitor_startup.bat" in the path, <DENODO_HOME>\tools\monitor\denodo-monitor\bin. 3. Change the privileges of a user and the log information would be available in <DENODO_HOME>\tools\monitor\denodo-monitor\logs\vdp-queries.log. You can refer the section [Configuring the Denodo Monitor](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/vdp/administration/monitoring_the_virtual_dataport_server/denodo_monitor/configuring_the_denodo_monitor) and [Launching the Denodo Monitor](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/vdp/administration/monitoring_the_virtual_dataport_server/denodo_monitor/launching_the_denodo_monitor#launching-the-denodo-monitor) from Virtual DataPort Administration Guide for more details on Denodo Monitor. Hope this helps!
