Can a user edit the rest web service deployed? If yes, can I get the details of user who edited the web service as additional columns in the same view?

Hi Team, I got a usecase today from my client. We need to create a materialized table in denodo with some 6 columns in it and the data is cached. After that we need to deploy this table as a web service. A user who is accessing the data from web service edited or inserted some records in the same table/view, we need to get the user details as 7th column in the same view. Is that possible? 1. For testing, I have created one dummy materialized table in dev 2. I deployed it as REST web service 3. But I am not able to edit it from the path were it is deployed Please help me with some useful information on it. Thanks, Manju

Hi, Yes, a deployed web service can be edited. To do so, I would edit the underlying materialized view on which the web service is created, the changes will be reflected in the web service (can be verified in the Resources tab of web service) and then redeploy it. To add the details of the user who modified the web service element, I would: * Create a view on Get_Elements stored procedure providing the web service name. * Perform a cross join of the view created in above step with the materialized view. * Publish the view as a web service. Refer to the document on the [Get_Elements stored procedure](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/vql/stored_procedures/predefined_stored_procedures/get_elements). To add the details of the user who modified the records of the web service, I would make use of the vdp-queries.log file as this file has the user name and session details of the requests: * Create a delimited file data source on vdp-queries.log file. * Create a base view on the data source. * Perform a join of the view created in above step with the materialized view along with the necessary filters. * Publish the view as a web service. Refer to the document on [Adding Delimited File as a Data Source](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/administration/creating_data_sources_and_base_views/delimited_file_sources/delimited_file_sources) and [Knowledge Base Article on Log Column Details of vdp-queries.log file](https://community.denodo.com/kb/view/document/Log%20column%20details?category=Operation). Hope this helps!
