Date Data Type Issue

Hi Team, 1. Please share Denodo 6.0 Manaul URL where I can read about Denodo Data types 2. I have a SQL Server Table, which has fields in date data type. When I create base view, those date fields are converted to text. Why ? How to keep them in date format in base view. I do not want to manually change them to date, as base view would be refreshed often. Please tell. Urgent. Thanks.

Hi, Please find in this link the documentation about [Denodo 6.0](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/). More explicitly the data types section can be found [here](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/6.0/vdp/vql/language_for_defining_and_processing_data_vql/data_types/data_types). I have been able to replicate the behaviour you describe when trying to create a base view from a MS SQL Server data source using the JTDS driver, which I believe is what you might be doing too. JTDS driver happens to have a [known behaviour](https://sourceforge.net/p/jtds/bugs/679/) that makes date types be returned as varchar. What I have done to work around this is to use the MS Driver instead. In Denodo 7.0 there is an enhancement that casts automatically the dates to Denodo date types in case you may want to consider upgrading. Hope this helps!
