To check the version, Denodo includes version files that can be checked in the filesystem. This [Q&A question](https://community.denodo.com/answers/question/details?questionId=90670000000Xcy0AAC&title=How+to+find+which+denodo+version+is+installed) explains how to find the version and updates of your Virtual DataPort server in the filesystem.
You can find the version in VQL by using the [DESC VQL](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/vdp/vql/describing_catalog_elements/describing_catalog_elements) command. At the very top of the output from any of these commands is a line that states the version and update of the VDP server.
Here is an example: If I have a view named “v” in my database and have write permissions on v, I can run this VQL statement in the Virtual DataPort Administration Tool:
“DESC VQL VIEW v”
Scrolling to the top of the output, I can see a line that says: “# Generated with Denodo Platform 7.0 update 20190903”; this line will contain your current version and update.
I hope this helps!
