Folder structure using ODBC driver

Many of our users connect to Denodo using the ODBC driver, version 7. Our databases have interfaces structured in folders, which are visible through VDP, and certain other tools (such as DB Visualizer). However, most reporting tools (ex. Excel, Power BI, Spotfire, Alteryx) cannot see the folder structure. Connecting to a database, it simply lists all interfaces in alphabetical order. Is there a way for reporting applications to be able to see the folder structure using the ODBC driver?

Hi, You will not see the folder structure when consuming the Virtual DataPort Server through any third party tools such as DBVisualizer since folders are internal to Virtual DataPort Administration Tool. Hence, all base views will be listed as TABLES and all derived views will be listed as VIEWS, which are traditional objects in relational databases. You could refer the Knowledge base article [Groups of Elements in Denodo](https://community.denodo.com/kb/view/document/Groups%20of%20Elements%20in%20Denodo?category=Operation) for more information. Hope this helps!
