Connection difficulties to Denodo through load balancer from Tableau

Hello, we are having difficulties to keep the connection from Tableau to Denodo alive when we put a load balancer in place. When we directly connect to a Denodo server through the special Denodo connector included in Tableau we don't have difficulties. We followed these instructions: This works perfectly without load balancer in between. When we add the load balancer, after a couple of minutes idle time in the browser, the user gets an error that the connection to the datasource has failed: "Unable to connect to the data source" - "no connection to the server" 1. We also found this article on connecting through JDBC through a load balancer to Denodo, which seems to introduce some extra parameters, however I cannot find these parameters in the Denodo connector settings in Tableau? 2. Could it be that the Tableau - Denodo connector is not suitable to work with a load balancer, but only directly connected to a Denodo server?

Hi, It seems that the server might have been terminated abruptly, you can check if your firewall connection closes for any inactive session after some period of time. For this, you can create a Tableau Datasource Customization (.tdc) file, which allows customizing the Denodo connector. The parameter KeepaliveTime instructs the connector to send a Keepalive packet to the Denodo server every 120 seconds. By sending this packet, the firewall does not close the connection because the connection is being used. To find more details you can refer to the troubleshooting section of this document below: Hope this helps!
