My base views are not appearing when I am searching my data catalog

Once I have syncronized my data with the Data Catalog from the VDP server, how to I get it to appear in search results? I have synched my data from the VDP and it is appearing in the Element Management page. When I search for the views in the catalogue, only views from previous synchronizations are appearing. The databases are showing when I search all but the views are not.

Hi Element Management Page in the Data Catalog displays all elements in the Virtual DataPort server (as of last synchronization) whereas Search Page lists only elements for which the logged user has metadata/execute privilege. For your scenario, I would click the view in the Element Management page that you had cited. If I don't have metadata access on the view, it would throw an “Insufficient privileges” error and that explains the reason why it was available in Element Management page but not in Search page. Setting the necessary(metadata and/or execute) privileges at Virtual DataPort server and relogging into Data Catalog should solve the problem. The below link explains in detail about the Search and Element Management configuration in Data Catalog: * [Catalog Search](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/data_catalog/search/catalog_search/catalog_search) * [Element Configuration](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/data_catalog/administration/catalog_management/elements_configuration/elements_configuration) If you are a user with support access and still consider that it is a potential problem in Denodo Platform, I would suggest you to raise a support case in the [Denodo Support Site](https://support.denodo.com/). Hope this helps!
