Cannot get product-ws to work from Training class - DEN70 - lab

Hello, I asked the same question last year in which I had built my own apache server for the Denodo 6 training. The problem still persists though now it persists in your very own Denodo 7 Quickstart VM for training. I checked the ports and java was using port 8080. I assume this is apache-tomcat but I don't know. Next I attempted to "curl" to the sites using putty, and I get a response "000", I would have expected "200" but I don't know any better. Could someone on the team take a look at the product-ws, troubleshoot it, and fix it so that others trainees do not experience this? Thanks for your assistance!

Hi, In order to connect to product-ws and create the datasource, the recommendation is to use the servers which are associated with the On-Demand course. If the port which you are using is already used by some other applications then you could change the port in the start.bat file. For more information on changing the port, you can refer Web service module of the on-demand course. For the training courses in Denodo 7.0, our recommendation is to use the Virtual Machine for doing the labs as the data sources needed are already available in the Virtual Machine. If you are using own server, then you need to identify the port where the server is running and configure it accordingly, hence we suggest you to use the one which is included in the labs. Hope this helps!
