Hi, I would update the column with default constraint to insert a field with default value in SQL server from Denodo. I would modify a column by using ALTER_TABLE<name> (ALTER_COLUMN) clause. You can refer to the sections [Modifying a Base View](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/vql/creating_a_base_view/modifying_a_base_view/modifying_a_base_view#modifying-a-base-view) and [Modifying a Derived View](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/vql/defining_a_derived_view/modifying_a_derived_view/modifying_a_derived_view#modifying-a-derived-view) of the Virtual DataPort VQL Guide for more information. You can have a look at the document [Inserts, Updates and Deletes Over Views](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/7.0/vdp/vql/inserts_updates_and_deletes_over_views/inserts_updates_and_deletes_over_views#inserts-updates-and-deletes-over-views) of the Virtual DataPort VQL Guide for more information. Hope this helps!
