Interface View

Hi, I would like to define the interface which has customer_key, customer_name, order_date and sales_amount. adding a implementation to that, i need to get the customer name from customer base view and all other columns from fact_Sales view. on the implementation tab, i could select either customer or fact_Sales. i dont see any option for adding multiple tables is there a way to acheive without creating a derived view on customer and fact_Sales

Hi, The interface view is a special type of view that consists only of a definition of fields and a reference to another view. It is created specifically for implementations where a** top-down development approach** is needed. In order to create an interface for the columns from multiple base views, I would create a** derived view** over the views and use it as an implementation view. For example, to create an interface view using the fields of ‘View_A’ and ‘View_B’, I would perform the following steps: * Create a new [join view](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/vdp/administration/creating_derived_views/creating_join_views/creating_join_views#creating-join-views) between ‘View_A’ and ‘View_B’. * Now, create an interface view from the newly created join view. You can refer to the section [Creating Interface Views](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/vdp/administration/creating_derived_views/creating_interface_views/creating_interface_views#creating-interface-views) of the Virtual DataPort Administration Guide that explains how to create interface views.
