In order to pass the values dynamically, I would use the [interpolation variable](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/creating_data_sources_and_base_views/path_types_in_virtual_dataport/path_types_in_virtual_dataport#paths-and-other-values-with-interpolation-variables). By using interpolation variables, paths and other parameters of data sources can be parameterized. Hence, I can provide the values of a field at runtime instead of design time.
For example, if I need to create a base view that allows us to pass the value for a field at runtime, I would perform the following steps:
* Create a base view by using the ‘[Create from Query](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/creating_data_sources_and_base_views/jdbc_sources/jdbc_sources#creating-base-views-from-sql-queries)’ option.
* Write the query and replace the input parameters with interpolation variables like @VARIABLE.
* Click OK and enter the values of the variables(any possible sample values) used in the query.
You can refer to the similar community Question[ How to create base view which accepts parameter](https://community.denodo.com/answers/question/details?questionId=9060g0000004ElXAAU&title=How+to+create+base+view+which+accepts+parameter) for more information.
Hope this helps!
