Solution Manager: connection error checking the version of the Denodo server

Hello Team, I have an issue when trying to create a new revision in Denodo Solution Manager. After selecting which server I want to connect to, I receive an error that states "connection error checking the version of the Denodo server" that pops up. I have checked that all services are running correctly on the server, and the server was recently rebooted and all services were started back up. This issue happens regardless of which of my servers I am trying to create a revision on so I suspect it is an issue with my Solutions Manager.

Hi, The error **“connection error checking the version of the Denodo server” **may occur due to the any one of the following reason: * When the deployment option is disabled over the target environment. In order to deploy the revisions successfully to the target environment servers, you need to set the Enable deployments option to Yes in the Deployments section of the Target environment. For more information about Deployments you can take a look at the “ [Configuring Deployments](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en//solution_manager/administration/environment_configuration/configuring_deployments) section of the Solution Manager Administration Guide. * Also, check if the host name and port are configured correctly with the VDP server inside the environment and ensure that your VDP server is running * In case, if you enable ssl in your VDP server make sure you have imported the certificate into the truststore of Solution Manager under *<SOLUTIONMANAGERHOME>/jre/lib/security/cacerts* * Also, if the Denodo security token is not enabled on the Denodo Platform, the deployment will cause an error. For more information about Denodo Security Token, you can take a look at the[ “Denodo Security Token](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/solution_manager/administration/denodo_security_token/denodo_security_token)” section under Solution Manager Administration Guide. In case you need further assistance and if you have a valid Support Account then you can reach out to Denodo Support by raising a support case on [Denodo Support Site]( https://support.denodo.com/MainPage.do) and the Support Team will assist you. Hope this helps!

Dear Support Team, we face the same issue on creating a revision when option "Authenticate with current user credentials for creating revisions" is activated at the server definition in Solution Manager. By the way, we are using Kerberos-Authentication at SolutionManager and VDP Server. We also enable HTTPS at SM and VDP-Server and have configured the "Denodo Security Token" as descriped under the link above. Could you please provide the solution for the case above?

Hi, This may happen when the user who is trying to create the revision has the least privilege. Hence you can check if the user has enough privilege to create the revision. For eg: you logged into Solution Manager as a kerberos user and that user does not have privileges to create the revision For more information you can refer to the below following document * [Creating Revisions](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/solution_manager/administration/promotions/creating_revisions/creating_revisions) * [Authentication and Authorization](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/solution_manager/administration/authentication_and_authorization/authentication_and_authorization) * [Authorization](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/solution_manager/administration/authentication_and_authorization/authorization/authorization#sm-authorization) In case you need further assistance and if you have a valid Support Account then you can reach out to Denodo Support by raising a support case on [Denodo Support Site](https://support.denodo.com/MainPage.do) and the Support Team will assist you. Hope this helps!

Dear Support Team, the issue could be solved by solution provided in the Support Case. Reason: * missing delegations at user running the Solution Manager service. Solution: * Enabling the RBKCD (Resource-Based Kerberos Constrained Delegation) to the users running the VDP servers solved the issue * The kerberos ticket was delegated successfully and everything was running as expected.
