Data Catalog Promotion - VDP Server settings + Category/Tag view links

Using denodo Version 7 When I export the data catalog on our Dev Server and promote to Staging the Virtual DataPort Servers are also imported and there seems no way to stop this. Not a big issue on Staging, but when I do this migration to Prod I don't want people see these servers when logging in. Does this mean that everytime I export/import these settings will be migrated? Can you please explain the logic/reasoning for this and is this replicated in Version 8? Also I see from a previous post that links from views to Categories/Tags are not promoted with the Export/Import process. Is this still the case in Version 8 and again please explain the logic/reasoning behind this? Thanks and Regards

Hi, Regarding Data Catalog export, all the Servers with its catalog metadata will be exported. Once Production export is done, Data Catalog admin can make necessary changes to Production Servers. Also, since Server is exported along with catalog metadata, it also includes categories and tags, so they are exported as well.
