Base views - Importing tables with same names

We have the following structure Databases : Year2014, Year2015, Year2016.... Tables in each YearDDDD database : abc, mno, xyz... We are able to create base views with the first YearDDDD database that we try. However we are not able to import subsequent year tables easily since they have the same name. Is there a way to add a prefix/suffix name during the import so that we can easily import tables with the same name? We have 10's of tables in each YearDDDD database and 10's of YearDDDD databases. Also is there a way to automate creation of base views?

You can right-click on a group of views (select multiple) and there is an option to prefix those views. That may do what you need.

Hi, To brief previous answer in detail, if you already have a base view created with name ‘XYZ’ and you want to import a table (‘XYZ’) within the same database in Virtual Data Port Administration tool, you can prefix the base view name that is already created by following steps: - Select multiple base views ‘xyz’,’abc’,’mno’ in the element tree. - Right click on it choose “Prefix selected views/associations “. - Enter the text to be prefixed in the dialog box that appears. You can also create base views using VQL statement “CREATE TABLE” for which you can find the syntax in section “Creating A Base View” from “[Advanced VQL Guide](”. If you need to automate the process of creation base views, you could create a Scheduler Job in order to execute a specified VQL statement regularly. Refer the section “Creating and Scheduling Jobs” from [Scheduler Administration Guide]( Hope this helps.
