unable to connect to jdbc driver

I'm unable to connect to Jdbc driver its showing error as shown below: "The JDBC driver was not found. The Denodo Platform does not include the JDBC driver for this adapter. Upload the jar files of this driver. To do this, open the wizard "File" > "Extension management" of Design Studio or the Administration Tool. In the tab "Libraries", select the JDBC adapter "mysql-5" and upload the jar files of this driver."

Greetings, Hope you are doing well. Denodo platform supports multiple types of JDBC sources along with their designated adapters. If the selected database is part of the supported list, you only need to follow the configuration steps mentioned [here](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/creating_data_sources_and_base_views/jdbc_sources/jdbc_sources#importing-jdbc-sources). (according to your message, mysql -5 seems to be selected which is supported by Denodo). Otherwise, if the selected database or database version is not supported by Denodo, a generic adapter can be applied. In this case, you need to import a JDBC driver and the section [here](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/importing_extensions/importing_extensions#importing-a-jdbc-driver-for-a-database-that-is-not-listed) outlines the steps needed. For more information , kindly check the following references: [Supported JDBC Data Sources](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/appendix/supported_jdbc_data_sources/supported_jdbc_data_sources#supported-jdbc-data-sources) [Importing a JDBC Driver](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/importing_extensions/importing_extensions#importing-a-jdbc-driver) Hope this helps!

Greetings , Considering the information provided, I have managed to reproduce the issue/error outlined in the first message. Following below mentioned steps and guidelines will enable you to perform a successful connection to the mysql database and create the data source in Denodo: 1. The required JCBC driver is not provided by Denodo ;however, it can be easily downloaded from https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/windows/installer/8.0.html For windows installation, I have used the MySQL Installer 8.0.32(i.e mysql-installer-web-community-8.0.32.0.msi). , which will install all important connectors including the Connector/J (i.e. the needed JDBC driver), where the jar files will be included. 2. Once the installation is complete, the required driver "Connector/J" will be located in the following path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\MySQL\Connector J 8.0" The desired jar files will be found on the Connector J 8.0 folder named as: mysql-connector-j-8.0.32.jar 3. After that, follow the steps mentioned in this section [Importing JDBC Sources](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/creating_data_sources_and_base_views/jdbc_sources/jdbc_sources#importing-jdbc-sources) to import the driver taken in consideration the following configurations used which I’m assuming would match your inquiry since the installed mysql database version is 5 : **Database adapter:** MySQL 5 **Driver class path:** mysql-5 ** Driver class:** com.mysql.jdbc.Driver. ** Database URI:** jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/test ** Username and password: **should be valid credentials in the selected database you are trying to connect to (i.e.in this case called test) Related references: [MySQL JDBC Driver](https://community.denodo.com/tutorials/browse/basics/1install_index) [Importing Extensions](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/latest/en/vdp/administration/importing_extensions/importing_extensions#importing-a-jdbc-driver) Hope this helps!
