REDIS AS A CACHE

Hi, I'm trying to use Redis as cache in Denodo. I've downloaded the jdbc driver from [CData](https://www.cdata.com/kb/tech/redis-jdbc-denodo-vdp.rst) as suggested in a previous question. The connection works, I can create tables from Redis server, but when I try to use Redis as cache I had errors. I think the problem is that there is no custom wrapper to translate sql language to Redis? Can you tell me more? How can I use Redis as a cache in Denodo? It is possible? Thanks, Maria

Hi Maria, the list of supported database as cache engine is shown [here](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/vdp/administration/cache_module/cache_module) but Redis is not in the list. What you said is correct, there's no supported adapter for Redis and Denodo cannot translate the statements he needs to set up and provide cache functionalities. You should consider one of the RDBMS listed. This page can also be useful: [Generic Support for Other Databases](https://community.denodo.com/docs/html/browse/8.0/en/vdp/administration/cache_module/generic_support_for_other_databases/generic_support_for_other_databases#generic-support-for-other-databases). Hope this helps
