Denodo Platform - Subscription Bundles

The Denodo Platform is offered in five subscription bundles. They are all built on the same engine, but have different levels of functionality.

The number of CPU cores for the MPP cluster can be limited by the Denodo license. By default, the maximum is 128 times the maximum number of CPU cores of the Denodo Platform. You can check the exact number on the Help section of the Denodo Control Center.

The Solution Manager is available upon request.

Note

The Denodo Standard subscription that was available before February 2022 is equivalent to Denodo Professional. The current Denodo Standard offers more features than before.

Denodo Enterprise Plus

As logical architectures evolve beyond the traditional Data Virtualization to become the foundation of a broader Data Fabric, Denodo has expanded its product capabilities along those lines as well. A Data Fabric requires advanced capabilities in areas like AI/ML, semantics, and collaboration to support this new paradigm. The goal of a Data Fabric is to enable faster, informed, and automated data access, integration, and delivery.

With this in mind, we now offer a new “subscription bundle” called Enterprise Plus. This bundle includes the following FeaturePacks (groups of related features):

  1. The AI & Recommendations FeaturePack: it includes an AI-driven recommendation engine based on the past activity of the users in Denodo and the integration of generative AI to automatically create queries.

  2. The Semantics FeaturePack: extends and enhances the metadata that can be represented in virtual models.

  3. The Embedded Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) FeaturePack: includes an embedded MPP execution engine, based on Presto, to accelerate performance and improve management of data lake content in object stores (like S3 or ADLS).

These FeaturePacks are not part of the Denodo Platform but are instead separately licensed add-ons. They are available exclusively with the bundle Enterprise Plus. Contact your sales representative for more details about this offering. To make it easier to upgrade to Enterprise Plus, you do not need to install a new component, only install a new license file.

Note

To find out which subscription bundle you have, open the About dialog of Design Studio, the Data Catalog or the Administration Tool.

AI & Recommendations FeaturePack

The AI & Recommendations FeaturePack includes:

  • Automatic recommendations of summaries: the feature Smart Query Acceleration relies on a type of view called Summary. This FeaturePack includes an AI-driven assistant that, using artificial intelligence, analyzes the past queries and recommends new summaries for query acceleration.

  • Automatic recommendations of datasets in the Data Catalog: this Feature Pack enhances the Data Catalog by displaying personalized recommendations to the users, based on their previous activity (e.g. most used, recently used, etc.). These recommendations show up in the homepage of the standard Data Catalog.

  • Automatic generation of queries in the Data Catalog: with the Assisted Query functionality this Feature Pack allows the use of large language models to generate queries based on the view’s metadata and a description of the query in natural language.

  • Automatic recommendations of filters and derived fields: this Feature Pack enhances the Data Catalog by providing suggestions about filters and derived fields to build queries, based on past activity of the users. These recommendations show up in the query tab of the standard Data Catalog.

Semantics FeaturePack

The Semantics FeaturePack includes:

  • Global Security Policies. A Global Security Policy is a set of restrictions that apply to all/some users over all/several views that verify certain conditions or tags. These restrictions can be masking the result of some queries depending on the user that runs the query, rejecting the query, etc.

Embedded Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) FeaturePack

The Embedded Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) FeaturePack includes this:

  • Embedded Massive Parallel Processing: Integrated MPP execution engine for query acceleration and caching.

  • Improved access and management of data lake content: efficient management of data in an object storage (like S3 or ADLS).
