USER MANUALS

Changes Common to All the Modules of Denodo 8.0 GA

Installer

There are no longer installers for 32-bit operating systems. The 32-bit version of an operating system only supports up to 4 gigabytes of RAM, which makes it inadequate to run Denodo.

If your organization still has legacy applications of 32-bit, they can still connect to Denodo via JDBC, ODBC, web services or the REST APIs of Denodo.

Supported Operating Systems

The following operating systems are no longer supported:

  • Solaris

  • Windows 8.1 and Windows 7

Web Container

The “Export” Endpoint is Disabled By Default

The “export” endpoint of the web container is now disabled by default because it did not have authentication by default and it was rarely used. The appendix Enable the “Export” Endpoint of the Web Container of the Virtual DataPort Administration Guide explains how to enable it and protect it with user/password.

Change in Post-Installation Tasks

  1. The post-installation tasks Hide Name and Version in Error Pages (documentation of Denodo 7.0) and Secure the “Export” Endpoint of the Web Container (documentation of Denodo 7.0) that you had to do in previous versions are no longer necessary in this version. That is because the changes you had to do are now part of the default configuration.

  2. If you install the Denodo Platform or the Solution Manager on Windows and you launch any of its components as a Windows service, it is now mandatory to configure these Windows services with the same user account you used to install Denodo. See more about this in the section Configure Windows Services.
