Assign Licenses

License Manager is the centralized place where Denodo servers can obtain their license.

The Denodo servers (Virtual DataPort, Scheduler, etc.) request a license to the License Manager when they start. In return, they get the license assigned to the environment to which they belong. In addition, periodically, they send a request to the License Manager to check that this license is still valid.

You can assign a license scenario to an environment when you are creating an environment or when you are editing one. In the latter case, remember to save your changes clicking the button save-btn.

To assign a license scenario to an environment, just choose one of the available scenarios for the field License scenario.

Assign a License to a Server

Usually, you assign a license scenario to an environment and all the servers of this environment inherit it. However, if the scenario of the environment is Production and your Denodo global license contains the license scenarios hot backup or cold backup, you can assign a custom hot backup or cold backup license to the servers of this environment.

You can assign a custom license scenario to a server when you are creating a new server or when you are editing an existent one. To assign a custom license scenario to a server, in the field License scenario, select hot backup or cold backup.

Check the License Information for an Environment

To check the details of the license that the License Manager will provide to the servers of an environment, open the environment and click info-btn, next to the field License Information. A new dialog will open with the features and the restrictions that apply to the servers of that environment.
