Enabling the Cost-Based Optimization¶

The cost-based optimization is disabled by default.

To enable it, follow these steps:

1. Click the menu Administration > Server Configuration.

2. Click the tab Queries optimization.

3. Next to Automatic cost based optimization, select on.

4. Click Ok.

   You do not need to restart to apply this change.

You can also enable this optimization on one database or only on a few of them and leave it disabled on a global level, or vice versa. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click the menu Administration > Database management.

2. Select one database.

3. Click Edit.

4. Next to Automatic cost based optimization, select on or off.

   In this dialog, if you select Default (it is the default option), the database will use the option selected in Server Configuration.

5. Click Ok.

   You do not need to restart to apply this change.
