Server Connectivity

To change the connectivity settings of the Virtual DataPort server, click Server configuration on the menu Administration and then, click the tab Server connectivity (see Server connectivity).

Note

Connectivity settings are disabled in Agora.

In this dialog, you can configure the following:

  • Ports used by Virtual DataPort:

    • Server port number: port to listen for incoming connections of the Administration Tool, the Design Studio, the Denodo JDBC driver and the Denodo web container.

    • Monitoring port number and Auxiliary port number: ports to listen for incoming connections monitoring applications (i.e. JMX applications). The following applications of the Denodo Platform connect to these two ports:

      • Denodo Diagnostic & Monitoring Tool

      • Denodo Monitor

      • The monitoring feature of Solution Manager.

These applications connect to both ports so both have to be reachable.

    • ODBC port number: port to listen for incoming ODBC connections.

  • Port numbers of the Web container embedded in the Denodo Platform.

Important

When Virtual DataPort runs on Linux, you have to change the interface that it listens to connections. To change this, open the Denodo Control Center, open the Configuration dialog and change the RMI Host of the JVM Options. See more details in the section Denodo Platform Configuration of the Installation Guide.

The reason for this is that Virtual DataPort by default listens to connections on the localhost network interface and on Linux, this interface does not allow connections from remote hosts.

Note

When the connection between clients and Virtual DataPort is established through a firewall, open the necessary ports on the firewall, depending on the type of application is going to connect.
