Search¶
One way of discovering useful resources in your data infrastructure is by searching. You can start searching at every moment. Look at the upper left corner. The search bar is right there. So just start typing key terms and press ENTER. The Data Catalog will show you all the views and web services available in the Virtual DataPort server that matched your query.
The Data Catalog supports two ways to search through all the elements in the catalog:
Metadata search. For a view or web service to appear in the query results, the query terms must exist in its name, description, fields, custom properties, etc.
Content search. For a view or web service to appear in the query results, the query terms must match with its data.

The REST API of Data Catalog has operations to query this search engine so you can integrate it in to another application. See the REST API documentation to learn how to invoke this API.
