Categories Management¶
The Category management page shows the current tree of categories in the
Data Catalog. You can filter the category tree by name. Just enter some text in
the search bar under the Filter categories title and click the 
icon.
From the Category management page you can administer the categories in the Data Catalog¶
From this page you can manage the categories available in the Data Catalog: create new categories, edit the existing ones or remove them. In addition, you can define the set of views and web services that belong to a particular category.
Create Categories¶
To create a new category click the Add category button. In the dialog that appears, you have to give values for the fields:
Name. The name of the category.
Description. A description for the category.
Parent category. Select in the tree of categories which category is the parent of the new one. This information is used to build the tree structure of the categories. If you do not select any category, the new category will be placed as a root node in the tree.

Edit Categories¶
To edit a category click the 
icon next to its name and select the
Edit option. You will access the details page for the selected category,
where you can use the 
icons to modify its name, its description and its
parent category.
From the Views and Web services tabs in the details page you can check the elements from the server that belong to the category. You can use the Assign category button to change the elements of the category.
Remove Categories¶
To remove a category click the icon next to its name and select the
Remove option.
You can remove several categories at once. Select them and click the Remove button in the toolbar.
Assign Categories¶
To assign a category to several views and web services click the
icon next to its name and select the Assign category option. A new page will
appear with the following elements:
In the sidebar you will see all the available views and web services in the server as a tree, which is organized by databases and folders. You can filter the elements in the tree using the search bar under the Database title.

To assign views or web services to the category:
Select them in the tree on the sidebar.
Drag-and-drop them to the target table or click the Assign button in the toolbar.
You can remove views or web services from the category in one of the following ways:
To remove an element, click the
icon next to its name.To remove several elements, select them in the tables and click the Remove button in the toolbar.
