Authorization¶
In the Solution Manager installation, an administrator can control what
privileges a role has over a
specific environment.
Grant to a role the MONITOR
privilege over an environment, and all the users
with that role will be allowed to:
See the environment, its clusters and its servers in the catalog of the Diagnostic & Monitoring Tool.
Monitor the environment, its clusters and its server.
Create diagnostics under any server.
Launch the Diagnostic & Monitoring Tool from My Applications, when the user selects the environment.
In the Denodo Platform installation, there are different requirements:
The catalog is private to the user. Once you logged in, you are allowed to create environments and servers, but they will not be shared with anyone else.
To monitor environments or servers you need to configure the servers with the credentials of:
an administrator, or
a user with the
monitor_admin
role.
The first diagnostic initializes the diagnostics metadata in Virtual DataPort. It has to be created with:
an administrator, or
a user with the
serveradmin
role.
Once Virtual DataPort is initialized with the diagnostics metadata, you only need the
diagnostic_monitoring_tool_create_diagnostic
role to create a new diagnostic.
In addition, for both installations, you need to have the
diagnostic_monitoring_tool_admin
role to be able to change the
server configuration of the
Diagnostic & Monitoring Tool.
