Internationalize Results

When you execute a query in the Data Marketplace, there may be values in the results that do not match your regional configuration. This is especially important for datetime and real values, whose format tend to be different between regions.

You can change the internationalization settings of the query results to match your regional configuration as follows:

  1. Go to the menu with the profile icon and select the Language and region settings option.

  2. In Query results section, enable the Internationalize option.

  3. Select the locale value that matches your regional configuration.

The selected locale will determine the following aspects of your query results:

  • The format of datetime values.

  • The format of real values.

  • The language.

  • The country.

  • The time zone.

If there is no locale that meets your needs, you can create a new i18n map in the Virtual DataPort server. Further information is available in the Virtual DataPort VQL Guide.

Internationalize Field Descriptions

If Field descriptions in the user’s language is enabled, you can select the language in which you want field descriptions to be displayed in Metadata section, Language for field descriptions. Take into account that if a field does not have a description in that language the default description for that field will be displayed instead.

You may need to log out and log in again to see the descriptions in the selected language.

User Interface Language

If there are available languages configured by the administrator in User interface languages, each user can configure the language in which user interface will be displayed in User interface section.

There are two options to resolve the language for the user interface:

  • Browser preferences. If any of the browser language preferences matches one of the configured enabled languages, user interface will be displayed in that language. Otherwise, default language will be selected for the user.

  • Language chosen by the user. In this case, the user could choose among the configured enabled languages and English (preinstalled).

After saving the language settings, the user interface will be displayed based on the option selected by the user.
