Sharing Saved Queries

From the My queries page you can share a query with other users of the Data Catalog. Follow these steps:

  1. Click the more-info icon of the query you want to share and select the Share query option. A dialog similar to the one below will appear.

  2. Enable the Allow copying query option. A link for sharing the query will be generated. From now on, any user who gets this link will be able to load a copy of your query. To remember that, the query is decorated with the shared icon in the My queries list.

  3. Click the Copy to Clipboard button to copy the link.

  4. Share the link with other users.

If other user shared a link with you, just copy and paste the link in your preferred browser and navigate to that URL. Log in the Data Catalog, if required, and you will see a dialog to load the query like the one below.

You have three options in the dialog:

  • Cancel. The dialog will close and the query will not be copied.

  • Load. A copy of the shared query will be created in the Query tab of the pertinent view or web service. You can execute it, modify it, or save it as your own query.

  • Save. The query is loaded and the dialog to save it will appear. Give the query a name and a description and confirm to save it.

You can invalidate a shared link at any moment. Proceed as follows:

  1. Click the more-info icon of the query you want to stop sharing and select the Share query option.

  2. Disable the Allow copying query option. From that moment, the link could not be used to create copies of the query anymore. To remember that, the query is decorated with the non-shared icon in the My queries list.
