Denodo Professional is a cost effective option providing the ease-of-use of Denodo’s modern data integration platform . This provides small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and enterprise level departmental projects with a flexible solution to leverage data virtualization with lower running costs and commitment. Available pay-as-you-go on all leading cloud marketplaces with automated cloud infrastructure setup, configuration and management, it lowers the entry point to get started with Denodo.
Where can I buy/subscribe to this offering and what is included?

Denodo Professional comes with the following components:
- Denodo instance for production (pay-as-you-go/hourly priced)
- Solution Manager (available upon request from Denodo Support)
- Denodo instance for development (included with annual subscription)
Users pay for their own cloud infrastructure costs in addition to the Denodo license. Denodo technical Support is included along with free onboarding educational courses to get started. Users have the option to do an annual subscription (/private offer).

Denodo Professional offers all the features necessary to get your data integration projects into production with minimal effort and resources, on the budgets of smaller organizations or teams. Customers are able to upgrade to Denodo Standard, Denodo Enterprise or Denodo Enterprise Plus if they need capabilities only available in Denodo Standard, Denodo Enterprise or Denodo Enterprise Plus subscription.

How much does it cost to get started with Denodo Professional?

How can I upgrade from Denodo Professional to other Denodo Subscriptions?
Denodo Professional allows you to start small and grow at your own pace. The options to upgrade from Denodo Professional to other Denodo subscriptions include:
- On cloud marketplaces, you can start up a new instance of your chosen Denodo subscription in your environment and quickly move your configuration settings including the VDP (Virtual Data Enterprise) server metadata via export/import using the VDP admin tool.

What type of users can make the best use of Denodo Professional?
Denodo Professional was created to support small and medium-sized projects of up to five data sources and then expand across the line of businesses or enterprises as needed. It is the more suitable option for departmental use cases, allowing teams to manage their budgets efficiently with low upfront costs. Users can start with an hourly rate and only pay for what they use.
This is a great option for projects that do not require many data sources or enterprise features such as advanced performance enhancement options, version control, advanced diagnostics, and an active data catalog when starting off a data virtualization project.

Free trial is available in cloud marketplaces and offers the best way to get started quickly , without any commitment for the first 30 days, after which the subscription will convert into a paid subscription.
With registration with Denodo, users get access to expert technical help via a consultation with an engineer to help with setup and use case validation, along with access to Denodo support. This is a great opportunity to learn and make your Denodo evaluation successful. It’s highly recommended that trial users register to receive the maximum benefits from the free trial.
The Denodo license is completely free and the users pay only for the infrastructure costs during the free trial duration.

How long does it take to install the Denodo Professional via cloud marketplaces?
Denodo Professional is quick and easy to set up and get started on cloud marketplaces. Users need a cloud account to login to the marketplaces and security and network policies setup (VPC and subnet) in their cloud environment where Denodo instances would be running. This should be obtained from their cloud admin prior to starting the installation. The quick start guide conveniently walks users through the required steps to set up Denodo Professional to get it running in less than 30 minutes.
What are the prerequisites to get started with Denodo Professional on AWS Cloud Enterprise?
You will need an AWS account to be able to sign-up for a subscription. You will pay only for the selected AWS Cloud infrastructure costs during the duration of the free trial.
When deploying as part of your annual subscription, you will also need a valid key pair in order to launch the Denodo Solution Manager Professional instance. During the setup process, users can select their own VPC (virtual private cloud) and subnet where they want the Denodo Solution Manager to be installed. If you have access to more than one VPC and subnet in the AWS account and are unsure about which one to choose, please contact the cloud administrator of your AWS account.
What are the prerequisites to get started with Denodo Professional on Azure Cloud Enterprise?
Users will need an Azure account to be able to sign-up for a subscription. They pay only for the selected Azure cloud infrastructure costs during the duration of the free trial. The following permissions are required to deploy the Denodo stack: Permissions on a Resource Group or ability to create a new one. In addition, users should have permissions to: Create VMs, Create VNets, Create Public IPs and Create DNS entries.
What are the prerequisites to get started with Denodo Professional on GCP Cloud Enterprise?
You will need a GCP account to be able to sign-up for a subscription. You will pay only for the selected GCP Cloud infrastructure costs during the duration of the free trial. You can create and launch your Denodo Professional for GCP PAYG(pay-as-you-go) VM instance using your GCP Account.
What is the purpose of the Denodo Solution Manager?
The Solution Manager is the single entry point to Design Studio and Scheduler in your Production, Development and Test environments. It also allows you to perform operations such as: managing the nodes of a Denodo cluster, license configuration and code promotion.
The default URL to access the Solution Manager is:

Where <sm_ip> is the IP address or DNS name for the Solution Manager virtual machine in the stack deployed.
Why do I need the VDP Administration Tool with Denodo Professional?
You need the VDP Administration Tool to graphically perform administrative tasks such as cache configuration, database creation and configuration, authentication set up and user management which you currently cannot perform with the Design Studio.
What is the difference between the VDP Administration Tool and Design Studio?
The VDP Administration Tool is a desktop client management application for administrators, while the Design Studio is web based and aimed at developers. All objects created or modified by the Design Studio can be modified via the VDP Administration Tool. However, certain administrative tasks such as database management, server cache configuration, authentication set up and user management can only be done graphically via the VDP Administration tool. The design studio is constantly being updated and will eventually support the broader capabilities available via the VDP Administration Tool.
Can Denodo Professional work with file-based data?
Denodo Professional works on most types of data objects, including file-based data objects, SQL, no-SQL, structured and semi-structured data.
What performance optimization capabilities does Denodo Professional offer?
Denodo Professional offers performance optimization capabilities including static and dynamic (cost based) optimization, join pruning, aggregation push-down, data movement and caching to achieve fast and scalable performance across multiple data sources.
Are Denodo Connect connectors available with Denodo Professional?
Yes, all Denodo connectors are available with Denodo Professional subscription via marketplace. Once you register for technical support, you will be able to download the connectors from the downloads section of the Denodo support site.
What happens when we use up all 5 data sources and need to connect to the 6th one?
A private offer can be facilitated (AWS & Azure cloud) to accommodate additional data sources as part of the custom transaction. Alternatively, you can upgrade to other Denodo Subscriptions to expand to additional data sources. To upgrade from Denodo Professional : On cloud marketplaces (AWS, Azure, GCP), you can select the subscription required and start up a new instance in your environment and move your configuration settings and metadata via the VDP Admin Tool using the tools export/import function. You can open a support ticket for further assistance or reach out to cloud.solutions@denodo.com for further guidance around the expansion path.
What type of security features are supported in Denodo Professional?
Denodo Professional includes all the security features of the Denodo Platform, including the protocols, SSO and authentication methods for both access to Denodo and for connecting to sources (Kerberos, OAuth, SAML, etc.,). You can manage role-based at both schema-wide and data-specific levels down to the row and column levels. You can also mask specific cells based on the user’s role.
