Virtual DataPort uses several ports for the server and the web container. The default values for these ports are the following:

Denodo 8.0 and 9.0

  • Server:
  • Server Port Number: 9999
  • Monitoring Port Number: 9997
  • Shutdown Port Number: 9998
  • Auxiliary Port Number: 9995
  • ODBC Port Number: 9996
  • Arrow Flight SQL Port Number: 9994 (starting with Denodo 9.1)

  • Web Container:
  • Web Container HTTP Port Number: 9090
  • Web Container Shutdown Port Number: 9099
  • Web Container JMX Port Number: 9098
  • Web Container Auxiliary Port Number: 9097

The ports configuration can be modified using the Administration Tool or Design Studio in the menu “Administration” > “Server configuration” > “Server connectivity”. The port changes will take effect the next time the Virtual DataPort server is launched.

When the Virtual DataPort Server and the Administration Tool or other clients are installed on different machines, the interface that the server listens to for connections may need to be changed. This can be done on the Denodo Control Center, opening the “Configuration” dialog and changing the “RMI Host” of the “JVM Options” (see Virtual DataPort Connectivity).

Furthermore, when the connection between clients and the Virtual DataPort server is established through a firewall, it must be configured to at least allow connections to the RMI, ODBC, and auxiliary ports. If these ports are not opened the clients will show connection errors.
