First steps - Organizing the Database

Now it is time to create elements in our virtual database. But wait! first, we have to stop and think about good practices when creating elements. One of the main best practices is to have a good organization of elements inside our database.

For that purpose, the Denodo Administration Tool offers the option to organize elements in folders in the Elements Tree, making it easier to work with them.

Creating a folder

To create a new folder follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the database name and select New > Folder or simply press Ctrl+Alt+F at any time.
  2. Name the folder.
  3. Later you can drag & drop elements into this folder.

Folders can be nested and also rearranged by dragging and dropping them.


If a folder is deleted, all the children elements are also deleted so double-check that the contents of the folder can be safely deleted.
